了解新西兰建筑规范

The New Zealand Building Code is the foundation of the country’s building regulatory system.

Unlike some countries where codes prescribe exactly how buildings must be constructed, the New Zealand Building Code is performance-based. This means the code defines how buildings must perform rather than specifying precise construction methods.

For example, buildings must meet performance standards for:

  • Structural strength
  • Fire safety
  • Weather tightness
  • Energy efficiency
  • Durability

The main legislation governing construction is the Building Act 2004, which sets the rules for building work, consent processes, and responsibilities of builders and owners.

For builders, developers, and designers, understanding these requirements is essential to ensure compliance and avoid costly redesigns or project delays.
